Pub 16 – The Palace Bar (Dublin City)
Pub #16 is The Palace Bar Dublin City (Visited March 2022)
Pub 16 of our epic pub crawl around every pub in Ireland.
We have landed at The Palace Bar, Fleet Street on the edge of Temple Bar. It’s not a tourist trap. A Victorian heritage pub with a cracking atmosphere(we were in on a Saturday evening) solid guinness and regular trad music sessions. It was built in 1823 and Irish poet and novelist Patrick Kavanagh once described the Palace Bar on Fleet Street in Dublin city centre as “The most wonderful temple of art”(Lifted from their website 😄) bit of #welovehistory for ya.
If you venture upstairs you will be met by the Whiskey Palace. The Whiskey Palace is a belter of a bar serving up some cracking whiskies 🥃 They have a solid selection available, so if you are partial to a sneaky Whiskey or 5 get stuck in.

Great pub near Temple Bar. Regular when I’m in town for a few.
Palace Bar is my fave for a drink in that part of town. Temple bar fills me with dread 🙁 🙁
Yea defo best to swerve Temple Bar. Palace is a cracking spot as is the Ha’Penny Bridge Inn up at Wellington Quay. Two solid spots close to Temple Bar.
