Pub 55 is the Cock Tavern in Swords. You will find it in the middle of Swords main street North County Dublin.
The Cock Tavern Heritage Pub is a descendent by continuous licence, from an old 18th century Coaching Inn located in the heart of Main Street, Swords. In the 18th century, The Cock Tavern was a very important Coaching Inn complete with farrier’s yard and stables that enabled coach passengers to disembark for refreshments.(Ref The Cock Taverns Website)
The Pub
A traditional, cosy pub, low ceilings with a great atmosphere. We had some grub on our visit and it was top-notch. The Guinness was good as well as the service. For the summer months they have a cracking beer garden upstairs as well as seating and tables out the front of the pub.
Plenty of the usual suspects on the bar menu as well as some nice additions like the hake and some salads. The loaded fries are definitely worth a shot, get them into your beak.
The Pints
Good selection on tap and bottled beers. They sell Hope Beer Session IPA, we definitely recommend getting stuck into that if you’re not on the stout. Speaking of which, The Cock Tavern do dish up a nice pint of Guinness.
The Cok Tavern Swords is a cracking traditional pub in the heart of the main street that ticks a lot of boxes. Check it out!
