Pub #44 is O’Loughlins Dun Laoghaire (Visited April 2022)
We are up to pub 44 on our tour around every pub in Ireland.
At this point we have completed our pub crawl around Dun Laoghaire but we still have a few more pubs to post. We are in O’Loughlin’s for today’s post. O’Loughlin’s pub is on George’s Street Lower in Dun Laoghaire.
This is a real old school bar. Inside it’s fairly small. It has some seating along the wall across from the bar and some tables and chairs at the front and back of the pub. When I was in there was a bit of racing on the telly and a mix of locals and tourists having a chinwag at the bar. The smoking area/beer garden was renovated a little while back and it is a cracking little spot. There is also some occasional live music out in the beer garden.
Overall good atmosphere inside and out. We definitely recommend you pop by to have a drink in the beer garden.
Staff were bang on, Guinness was good and it’s definitely something a little different from the other pubs on the street.
We will be picking our favourite stop offs from this town shortly 🙂
The best pint of Guinness in the area!
Yea they dish up a solid pint alright. We had a few crackers down that way. Buck Mulligans & McLoughlins were two of the nicest on our visit. Some nice pubs in the area.
I was very fond of this place in my college days. Days when Guinness was my drink of choice. Unfortunately the gas got the better of me 🙁 hehe
I still have the occasional sip. O’Loughlins could certainly pour a goodun.

Hi Rav, thanks for the comments. Yes O’Loughlins definitely dishes up a decent pint. Nice spot.
We had planned a trip to Galway back in December but rearranged and went to Kilkenny and a couple of other towns instead.
Galway and a return to Sligo are amongst the next few spots on the list 100%
What’s your favourite spot in Galway?
I also went to college out this way. This was way too much of an old guys kinda place for me. Guinness and farts but I get the old fashioned love for it. Not hating on Guinness cause I do like an occasional pint
