Pub 33 – Kellys (Ashbourne, Meath)
Pub #33 is Kellys in Ashbourne Co. Meath (Visited March 2022)
Kellys Ashbourne is our 5th stop of 7 in Ashbourne Co. Meath.
The pub itself is on the main street with a bus stop directly outside. The stop will take you to Blanchardstown, Swords, City Centre, The Airport and more. It’s a Nice pub inside, and the bar and lounge are nice. The bar area has a nice warm fire and always dishes up a solid pint. Out the back of the pub there’s an absolute cracker of a beer garden. There’s a dedicated bar for it as well which saves you from nipping in and out of the lounge (the bar in the beer garden is usually closed on quiet days)
If you are feeling peckish you can order a Remo’s pizza from the pub. When the beer garden area is open there’s a Remo’s pizza hatch to order from directly (see pics)
When that is not open you can order at the bar. The service is usually very good here, there’s one member of staff who can be fussy if you are wearing any sort of gear that resembles work gear. I was in with a friend of mine who had work trousers on and there was a bit of a whinge and we were asked to drink in the beer garden. A tad snooty you might say haha. Overall, the majority of the staff were bang on.
We had some really solid pints in Ashbourne, but in the early part of 2022 Kellys, we had our best pint of Guinness. Consistently solid, the pint was an absolute belter!
