Pub #25 is Bradys Maynooth Kildare (Visited March 2022)

Bradys Maynooth (also known as Bradys Clockhouse) is on the main street. There’s the bar to the front, lounge around to the side and a solid outdoor area, as well as a nightclub. The B2 nightclub is known to many college students as the place to be on a ‘Bradys Wednesday’ student night!

Time for a sneaky bit of We Love History. In 1923 Phil Brady arrived in Maynooth from Co. Cavan aged 16 and served his apprenticeship as a barman in a pub on Main Street Maynooth. The bar at the time was owned by the widow Mrs. Pitts. Within a decade he had learned all he needed to know about the business and finally bought the pub from Mrs. Pitts. The pub remains at the heart of Maynooth today as Bradys Clockhouse.

On our visit, we stumbled into the bar and we had two solid pints dished up to us. I think the bar is mainly for regulars (Not 100% on that) but the staff were bang on and didn’t give us the boot.

Throughout the month there is regular live music, student nights and if you are chasing a bit of live sport there are plenty of big screens for Premier League, GAA, Rugby, or whatever big event is on.

Maynooth has been good to us so far, Brady’s was another solid stop-off!
