The Arch Bar (Swords, Co. Dublin)
Location & History
The Arch Bar is on Swords Main Street. It is one of the newest pubs in the town and another cracker of a spot. The building was formerly the Star bar which closed back in 2016.
The Pub
Brought to you by the people behind the Schoolhouse and The Chalk Venue. This completes the holy Trinity of solid piss-up spots from them.
Back in The Star days it had the lounge area downstairs, a pool room with jukebox (can’t beat a jukebox) and dartboard upstairs as well as a night club out the back.
The new layout looks great. The upstairs area isn’t open yet but the downstairs is huge. There are plenty of nice seating areas in the front bar and lounge area towards the back. There’s live music at the weekends and sound staff, what more could you want.
There is some cracking grub dished up here. Solid portions.
Ribs, wings, burgers, bitta Sea Bass. Plenty of solid grub on offer.
The Pints
The pints are always solid enough in here. All the usuals on tap and some craft.
